IDEK you said you wanted the cat so I'm just going to say you can have this half feral thing. (Aka let's talk shenanigans or feels and then do them as I scream over my attempts to play this cat)
[It was brightly lit, loud, and full of people getting into his personal space. People he didn't know entering his personal space without a thought or care. Why this? What did he actually do to deserve this? There's a reason he did his shopping during certain days and certain times, and this...chaos is one of the main reasons.
To those that can actually speak Genda the frown and the way he leans as much as he can away from touching anyone or anything, while still being rooted to his spot is pretty much the same as someone else wringing their hands or pacing.]
"It looks busy."
[Translation. Please don't make him actually have to go in there. He promises to atone for whatever it is you're punishing him for.]
[He knew he would get this reaction, honestly. And for a moment, he thought maybe Jimon was the better of the teammates to ask to bring with him. Genda was...not anti-social, per say. But rather introverted compared to some of the other members of Teikoku. Sakuma often had to be the push that the goalie needed to get out there outside of a routine that he'd probably follow until the day he died.
Which brings them to their situation now.
Sakuma's ignoring Genda's hidden plea for help, eye closing as he goes to grab a basket for the taller boy to carry. In fact, he'll even take Genda's hand and place it on the handle, folding those large fingers over it so he's sure it's in his grasp.]
You're not getting out of this, Genda. I need the extra manpower.
[It's said in a gentle tone, at least, his smile trying to be as reassuring as possible.]
[The fact he doesn't really do anything more then reflexively tighten his grip on said handle speaks a lot about his resigned state over this, and the fact anyone else trying that would have lost their hands in the process. There would likely have been a heavy sigh as well by now, if Genda was a typical teenager. Instead there's just a slight downward tilt to his usual frown.]
"Jimon doesn't mind being a pack mule."
[You're lucky he's as fond of you as he is, because survival instinct says to flee, but loyalty is making him willing to endure this because you asked. At least he can use the basket as somewhat of a barrier when people get too close. ]
[Maybe it's because Sakuma's spent so much time with Genda at this point. He knows the man's body language, his habits, his quirks, and more importantly, his excuses to get out of something, and just how far he can push. Sakuma does push, too, because for all case and purposes, Genda and Kidou are his social life.
The comment's met with a smile, a rare one Sakuma only saved for his comrades.]
Jimon would complain less. I'm sacrificing a lot, here.
[With a slight tilt of his head, he gestures for Genda to follow.]
We'll pick up some snacks to eat on the way home, too.
[And there's, well it's not really a smile but it's not a scowl anymore, as he says such. This back and forth is almost automatic by now with how often he attempts to get out of these events.]
One day food isn't going to get you your way.
[Yet, like some gangly shadow he's already falling into step behind the other. The food isn't even really a factor, because he'd still have followed when told to. He has to attempt maintaining some semblance that the can put up a fight when pushed into these things.]
[Genda might not be showing a smile, but it does nothing to stop the one on Sakuma's face from spreading. He passes by the packaged area, picking up some rice crackers and putting them in the basket, already starting to make plans to compartmentalize the basket.
Everything has to be at 90 degree angles ok.]
So this is a negotiation now?
What are your terms?
[It's a humorous tone, at least. Genda always spoke few words, but that's what made conversation so easy with him.]
[He's going to aid you in that compartmentalizing as he shifts so the basket is still in easy reach for the other but braced that even as he walked there would be little shifting.
It's practically domestic and at odds with what most others would expect.]
Negotiations mean surrendering.
[He still has his pride, and he certainly isn't going to make this easy for you Sakuma. Besides if he gave in you'd be bored to tears if you couldn't bully him into these outings now and again. Genda gives a small smirk in amusement over this.]
[It's silent gratitude, the way his head tilts ever so slightly towards Genda, a soft nod in acknowledgement and the way his smile practically seems tailored towards the goalkeeper alone. Sakuma didn't really show softness much--he was all straight edges and corners. But every now and then, and especially among his fellow Teikokus--especially among Genda and Kidou, you'd think he was the warmest person.]
You refuse, huh?
[He whispers, knowing full well of Genda's tease, but doesn't necessarily stop it.]
[There may or may not have been a smile at that, the world may never know, well Sakuma will know, even as he weaves around someone standing in the middle of the aisle. Normally his expression would be more open, but that's usually on the field or when not surrounded by so many people.]
I don't know. [He answers bemusedly, pulling a jar off the shelf to inspect the expriation date. The conversation seems to be going on more in the background of the current shopping trip, and once the date checks out, he places it in the opposite corner of the box.]
No negotiations, don't listen to your own comrades...
You're a bit of a loose cannon in this imaginary war, don't you think?
[Genda, do anything that chaotic? Even he can't lie in jest about that. He'd probably have an aneurysm if he even attempted to do anything that goes against the natural order of his life.]
How have I ignored my comrades?
[If anything they sold him out, since one of them had to realize what you were going to do that has lead to him seeing more crying children in one area then should be allowed.]
"You're not my captain." [He imitates in jest, knocking his knuckles lightly on Genda's chest as he walks towards the next aisle. Double points for even trying to deepen his voice, a soft little imitation of the giant cat of a goalie.]
[Sakuma may have only one exposed eye, but he can see in the back of his head that stare that Genda was trying to bore into his skull. A soft checkmate.
Although the comment catches him a little off guard, pulling a small tub of it out of the refrigerated section.]
[Ah, you're one of those people. Genda would feel betrayed over this, but that would mean always feeling betrayed when Kidou uses the same battered notebook for three different topics to take notes on.]
Doesn't that lead to a chance of forgetting something?
[Never mind that fact he never has a physical list, but his shopping is so ingrain it's instinct by now.]
[He reaches up, clapping a hand on his shoulder to look up into those stoic, steeled eyes.]
It's never been in the plan for Teikoku to lose a soccer game. But losing can have it's own feeling of accomplishment in the end, can't it? I means we support the ones who go in our stead.
[Part of him wonders how this lecture came about in regards to a shopping list. Another part feels like he just sprung a well placed trap and now he either hopes for a dignified way out or he's going to fall right where Sakuma wants him to fall.]
That's different, not all can bounce back from such chaos as easily as others. The support is still there, but the improvements may not happen.
[That smile returns, letting that hand slip down from his shoulder and inbetween his side and arm, grabbing an item just from the aisle behind him. As if that'd been the whole reason he did that little gesture (it wasn't).]
[The lack of a personal bubble doesn't really register (Because it's Sakuma) as he side eyes the other for that comment. He may be loyal to Kidou but he's not that bad.]
I'm certain cape wearing can only be pulled off by Kidou.
[Why would he even want to wear a cape. That seems like a hassle.]

It does, I suppose. But I also trust myself to remember anything I need, and improvise when the list doesn't go according to plan.
That's not such a bad strategy, is it?
no subject
If you don't mind deviations from the initial plan.
[Genda, this is shopping not a tactical meeting pre-game. Stop picking up habits from Kidou.]

Both at once.
He smiles, putting the item in the basket, letting it slide up next to the others.]
You're right on that.
[He tilts his head towards the next aisle.] What about goggles?
no subject
[There wasn't even a pause in his answer as he slots himself once more next to but a bit behind Sakuma as he heads towards the next aisle.]
Is my fashion that boring to you?
no subject
The opposite.
I like you just the way you are.
