[It's silent gratitude, the way his head tilts ever so slightly towards Genda, a soft nod in acknowledgement and the way his smile practically seems tailored towards the goalkeeper alone. Sakuma didn't really show softness much--he was all straight edges and corners. But every now and then, and especially among his fellow Teikokus--especially among Genda and Kidou, you'd think he was the warmest person.]

[He whispers, knowing full well of Genda's tease, but doesn't necessarily stop it.]
[There may or may not have been a smile at that, the world may never know, well Sakuma will know, even as he weaves around someone standing in the middle of the aisle. Normally his expression would be more open, but that's usually on the field or when not surrounded by so many people.]
I don't know. [He answers bemusedly, pulling a jar off the shelf to inspect the expriation date. The conversation seems to be going on more in the background of the current shopping trip, and once the date checks out, he places it in the opposite corner of the box.]

[Genda, do anything that chaotic? Even he can't lie in jest about that. He'd probably have an aneurysm if he even attempted to do anything that goes against the natural order of his life.]

"You're not my captain." [He imitates in jest, knocking his knuckles lightly on Genda's chest as he walks towards the next aisle. Double points for even trying to deepen his voice, a soft little imitation of the giant cat of a goalie.]
[Sakuma may have only one exposed eye, but he can see in the back of his head that stare that Genda was trying to bore into his skull. A soft checkmate.
Although the comment catches him a little off guard, pulling a small tub of it out of the refrigerated section.]
[Ah, you're one of those people. Genda would feel betrayed over this, but that would mean always feeling betrayed when Kidou uses the same battered notebook for three different topics to take notes on.]
Doesn't that lead to a chance of forgetting something?
[Never mind that fact he never has a physical list, but his shopping is so ingrain it's instinct by now.]
[He reaches up, clapping a hand on his shoulder to look up into those stoic, steeled eyes.]
It's never been in the plan for Teikoku to lose a soccer game. But losing can have it's own feeling of accomplishment in the end, can't it? I means we support the ones who go in our stead.
[Part of him wonders how this lecture came about in regards to a shopping list. Another part feels like he just sprung a well placed trap and now he either hopes for a dignified way out or he's going to fall right where Sakuma wants him to fall.]
That's different, not all can bounce back from such chaos as easily as others. The support is still there, but the improvements may not happen.
[That smile returns, letting that hand slip down from his shoulder and inbetween his side and arm, grabbing an item just from the aisle behind him. As if that'd been the whole reason he did that little gesture (it wasn't).]
[The lack of a personal bubble doesn't really register (Because it's Sakuma) as he side eyes the other for that comment. He may be loyal to Kidou but he's not that bad.]
I'm certain cape wearing can only be pulled off by Kidou.
[Why would he even want to wear a cape. That seems like a hassle.]
[That eye that's visible softens. It's not that he didn't expect Genda to extend the same back...they'd been through too much together to really discount that they were good allies.
But to hear that, that he kept pace with someone who saw him in the same light. It's comforting.]
[There's a bit of a question in his look now, even as the smile remains for a bit longer. Sakuma isn't one to verbally stumble like that and so suddenly. Though, instead of calling the other out on such he just hums a small noise of agreement and dutifully angles himself to avoid another shopper while following the direction Sakuma points him in.]
[It's times like this that he's glad for Genda's own social awkwardness. It certainly made his slip ups easier to handle, after all, and thanks to his dark complexion, he didn't have to worry so much about the flush rising to his cheeks at that moment.
Not that Genda would even question it as anything other than a possible fever, or that he should remove his jacket.
He was too dense on anything more complicated.
His thoughts seem to bleed outside his head as he goes down the next aisle, gripping that container of miso a little too hard for a moment until the plastic croaked. There was no damage, but the soft little squeak like that of a door sounds as he fixates on that last sentence he dare utter to himself in his mind.]
[It isn't so much the noise that catches his attention but more that the banter and conversation that had kept him from realizing what sort of chaos he was in the middle of had stopped.
The lack of focus on his friends face causes him to drift closer in concern. Close enough that every other step arms brush as he peers down at the other, smile gone and replaced by a confused frown.]
[Genda's voice snaps him out of it, blinking furiously as he regains his senses from being lost in his own thoughts. It wasn't...odd for him to go into those little states. Not really being in a trance but also enough to kind of wrap himself up in his own headspace to really notice what he was doing.

[The response may have been to the direction change, but the open look is still there in the softness of his eyes. He won't ask or push about such. If the other wanted to speak about what thoughts had preoccupied him so suddenly then he'd be there to listen if Sakuma wished, even if he didn't wish such he would still be there. It's what he always does, even when he protests and tries to wriggle out of things like this entire shopping trip.
A trip he's only barely keeping himself functioning in as yet more people cross that invisible line that is his usual space bubble.]
