[His mood settles into a more carefree, casual tone, letting their feet guide them along the sidewalk, their arms being the only link between them, but with no pull on either side.]
It might not be very big, and no one might notice, but it'd be worth it if it made someone smile.
[ Does she have any idea where they're going yet? Honestly, no. A lot of this remains new and unknown, which is something Itsuki knows Erika would be thrilled about and she's still mildly curious herself. Until then, she can simply enjoy this walk with him for what it is (or what she thinks it is). ]
... You've already made someone smile, though. I think you're doing very well already.
[Don't worry Itsuki, he knows exactly where he's going, and if she happens to need a hint in the direction, he'll tug her gently to let her know when there's a turn. It's not too far to the riverbank...but he may be going a bit slower to enjoy their leisurely pace.]
[That's more what he likes to see--a playful banter back from her that he knew she kept tucked inside her. Itsuki may be acting in place of her ailed brother, but he could see the bits of sunshine that wanted to peek out from behind the cloud she'd fit over herself.]
That bright and shining smile just for me?
[He slowly steers her to take a right at this next crosswalk, looking around for the little fairy that had seemed to have disappeared for just a moment. She was tiny--maybe she was just hiding from passerby.]
[ Sure enough, Itsuki's finally got it into her head to hide in her bag when there are other people around. Which doesn't mean that Potpourri isn't poking her head out at nearly regular intervals, but if Taiyou spots her during one of those times, the fairy will beam at her. ]
I think she might be too young for you.
[ All she needs, Taiyou seducing her tiny baby fairy into having a crush. ]
[His face turns panic-stricken for just moment, as if unable to comprehend why no one had made a move on Itsuki before this, whether they saw her male or female.]
[The gakuran did fool him when she walked down the hallways looking for Potpourri, but the moment he grabbed her hand, and the moment he saw those eyes...he knew.]
Things are better left unexplained sometimes, anyway.
[Guess that settles that. Itsuki wasn't going to be an easy one to confess his fascination...no, attraction, to. But hell if that was going to stop him. He'd just have to play the long game, and slowly make her realize it.
He never backed down from a challenge, and this was no different.]
We're here.
[The last turn takes them to river, with steps that lead down into a quaint little square with a soccerfield right by the riverbank. It seemed to be recently made--the tile fairy new and cared for, the paint on the field still fully visible and freshly painted.
Whoever took care of this place obviously loved it very much.]
[ Itsuki admittedly goes a tad wide-eyed, taking in the view as she heads down the steps. With the sun lowering, the light's already sparkling across the water and making the whole scene glow. ]
[He smiles, his blue eyes scanning the area and taking in every glistening bit of that sparkling water. There's something about this place that every soccer player can relate to. It all has this feeling of genuine peace. That you truly can come here at any time and talk about things.
A place that even people who aren't into soccer can just take a moment out of their day and relax.]
My friend's soccer team likes to come here to practice. I can't come here as much, since I live farther away...but I still love it.
I see... then I'm glad you came to see me, if this is such an important place for you.
[ Especially if he doesn't live that close to it. While not a soccer player, Itsuki can acknowledge that there's definitely a pleasant feel to this place. ]

And who might that be? Maybe....Potpourri?
[A little tease, smiling right back at her.]

[ And a giggle from her fairy companion, of course, as Itsuki's smile also takes on a hint of something teasing. ]

[An apologetic smile follows, catching the moment the little fairy pokes her head out and boops her 'nose' with a finger.]
...Oh well! I'll just have to set my sights on someone a little older, then.
[Wink at Potpourri, and a casual, nonchalant glance at Itsuki to see her reaction.
Will she catch on?]

Someone in your year, then?

Mmm...
[A thoughtful hum, eyes drifting upward once more.]
Maybe...but I was thinking of maybe finding someone just a bit older. A year, maybe.
That's more exciting, don't you think?
no subject
[ There's no real judgment in it, just a slight sense of amusement. ]
I've never thought about trying to pursue someone older... or, well... anyone. But I guess there would be a challenge in that, if you tried.

[But his eyes flick a shade brighter--maybe there's his opening.]
Have you considered someone younger, then?
no subject
[ So. Good luck, Taiyou. ]

Well, that takes away most competition for the lucky boy then, doesn't it?

Really?
Is it just because of the Gakuran?
[Which he can see in some ways.] It never occurred to me once.

I appreciate it, though.

[With Itsuki's town and Inazumacho so conveniently close, it made the trips all the more satisfying.
He starts down the steps, turning half way to make sure to wait for her.]
Places like this feel full of life, and so I feel the same.
