[Her answer's amusing enough to curl that smile a little more, leaning over just enough to match their gazes.]
Maybe, but seems like a lot of work for something you can get just about anywhere.
[The lack of intimidation is a nice change of pace. Gassan's girls didn't usually like to converse with him, his reputation as the basketball star still kind of going around, and probably would until he could prove himself otherwise. Just being on the soccer field and an actual team player wasn't enough.]
Most strangers don't tend to strike up conversations out of nowhere, bar Erika herself, who is absolutely not any kind of shy or timid. If the tall boy wants to talk with her, she can settle in for a good chat, and blue eyes meet plum with a hint of amused curiosity in her gaze now. ]
Maybe, but you're probably thinking of the wrong reason. Are you here for a boy?
Yep! [ Erika flashes him a grin and a thumbs up. ]
I'm president of my school's Fashion Club, but more importantly, I want to be a designer. So I've been having a few guys here help out, through connections.
[Her laugh gets a little smile on his face, trying to hold back his own as he waits for her to catch her breath. It'd been just such a throwaway comment he had to go think it over again...
And then that chuckle escapes, drowned out with her own.]
Well, can't say I'd be all for it either. It is kind of girly.
[That palm blocks his view for just a second, before one of those gigantic hands moves it (gently for someone of his size) out of the way as if he were opening drapes.]
You can't just say you've got Raimon doing model work and not give names!
Heh, you could say that. [Almost literally. At the time of his acceptance into Inazuma Japan, he didn't see himself sticking with the sport--only to win FFI and go overseas for basketball. But fate had other plans, and both inside and outside forces had helped him embrace the sport with open arms.
But he holds his hand out, palm out and inviting, ready to take her hand in return.]
Same here.
...So it's Matsukaze you roped into it? [The idea of Tenma standing still for long enough to model was something was almost TOO rich, hiding a snicker beneath his question.] Now that we're all friends here, you can tell me, right?

It's a boy, huh.

Maybe, but you're probably thinking of the wrong reason. Are you here for a boy?
[ ... said without even batting a lash. ]

[Bingo. His body leans back a little bit out of surprise, as if that question completely blindsided him.]
Uh.
Maybe. But YOU'RE probably thinking of the wrong reason.
[Nailed it.]

[ FEAR. LESS. ]
So is it maybe a date or meeting a friend or are you declaring some kind of challenge to somebody?
[ ... She knows the last one very well because of how many dojo challengers tried to take Itsuki on. ]
no subject
!!
Hey, I'm the one who asked you the question to start--if anything, that's MY line.
[DEFLECTING.]
no subject
After you tell me.
[ Oh, is he shy? She's starting to look more than a little amused now. ]
no subject
FINE.]
Meeting an old teammate.
Now you.
no subject
Meeting one of my models.

[That's not an answer he was expecting to hear, but it's enough to satisfy him. If anything, it spiked his curiosity.
His arms rest on his knees at he leans over, eyes now fixed on her.]
Like...runways and fashion, right?

[And then, bluntly.]
Are they all ugly?
no subject
[ Sorry, please hold. Erika's laughing too hard to answer him for at least thirty seconds, and then she finally has to cough and try again. ]
Let's just say they're not very cooperative! Guys at my school seem to get the wrong idea if you ask them to be models, apparently.

And then that chuckle escapes, drowned out with her own.]
Well, can't say I'd be all for it either. It is kind of girly.
[Ibuki says. To a person of the female gender.]

[ Wagging a finger, okay-- ]
no subject
The soccer club? That's who you roped into it?
[Give him a moment, he's trying to process this.]

[He leans in closer, plum eyes now lit with a fire behind them.]
I want names.
no subject
[ And she's immediately putting up a palm between them. ]
I'm not so sure why I owe you that.
no subject
You can't just say you've got Raimon doing model work and not give names!
[Especially to him!]
no subject
[ ... why is his hand so much bigger than hers ]
no subject
...[Give him time to process this, though, eyes going from her, to the entrance, and then back to her.]
Fine. It's Ibuki Munemasa.
[There, that's a name.]

[Thanks Shindou for not talking about their amazing friendship he had to sit through half a season of your bitching for.]
Yeah, that's me. Ex-basketball, now-goalkeeper at Gassan Kunimitsu.
no subject
[ She can't deny that she's got much more respect for the sport now, but she's still pretty amused that it had even pulled a basketball player in. ]
I'm Kurumi Erika. Nice to meet you, Ibuki-kun.

But he holds his hand out, palm out and inviting, ready to take her hand in return.]
