Good. Because this is something I'm actually confident about.

If it were any other team -- if it were any other captain but Endou, I probably wouldn't have gotten so into soccer as I did. But it was the team that appealed to me. And this one, too.

[This is probably the first time he's ever heard -that-, or at least gotten the insinuation that Kazemaru had no interest in soccer before Endou during middle school.]

Were your interests somewhere else?

Oh, yeah. I was originally in track and field.

When you guys first came to Raimon for that practice match? We barely had eleven players on Raimon, right? Three were last minute recruits and I was only supposed to help that match.

[ichigou]

Track and field? [This is the first time Sakuma's heard this, and he can't help but stifle his laughter with a hand.]

So that explains why you all looked so green when we faced you.

[Teikoku's reputation aside, half of Raimon had never played soccer before...]

So Endou converted you from another team as well.

With me not giving a straight answer and a few other guys being wishy washy, everyone was kind of accepting Raimon's loss and the club being shut down. That was what was on the line.

But Endou didn't give up. I watched him practicing on his own... and you could say he lit a fire in me. I thought I might be able to see something I'd never seen before. He won me over.
