[Taiyou's disposition is as bright as the star he was named after, arms clinging happily to the boy and burying his face into that mess of hair that always looked both windswept and like wings ready to catch that very same wind. He could smell the boy's shampoo--refreshing and light and so very Tenma... His own hold is not unlike a child either, looping his arms around the boy's shoulder and burying him in the presence of the boy he'd finally got to date.
His boyfriend--boyfriend!--that he'd admired from afar, played his very soul for, and won.]
Where was Tenma when Fuyuka-san would chase me around the hospital to get me to use the nasty hospital toothpaste...
[He laughs, pressing his cheek against that shoulder in return.]
[He didn't mind the smell of the hospital so much, back when that was where he'd meet with Taiyou -- he'd recognized it as the smell of the location and not the boy himself, knowing that once he got to meet him outside the walls, he'd know his true scent.
Buried against Taiyou's shoulder, Tenma closes his eyes against the sweet smell of the sun and grass, listening to the sound of his laughter. He could stay like this forever, but at the same time he would probably burst with too much happiness if he stayed here too long.]
You won't have any excuses now. You have to brush your teeth every day and night.
[If Taiyou could compare this feeling to anything, it would be laying on the grass underneath the sun, a soccerfield with the goddess of victory smiling down on him...the heavens themselves blessing him with the happiness of just breathing fresh air.
He'd never felt more healthy, more alive.
And he'd do anything to keep it that way, even brushing his teeth every day and night.]
I promise, I promise! Every day and every night, but only if you promise to kiss me just like you did.
[A shift of Tenma's head against Taiyou's shoulder, a sigh, and Tenma pulls back to look at him again. He's red all the way from the tips of his ears down to where his neck disappears into his shirt collar, but he looks at him straight in the eyes again, determined but also hopeful.]
... 'Course I'll kiss you, Taiyou. And you'll kiss me too, right?
[He loved that part of Tenma the most. How strong he sounded, but without the raw force or masculinity that someone like Tsurugi had. He loved the way his voice rode on the wind, lighthearted and hopeful. He loved those blue eyes, not as bright as his own, but sparkling with energy that in turn fueled his own.
Tenma's answer is met with a quick, teasing kiss to his forehead, before arms pull him close in a giggly embrace.]
[With Taiyou's arms wrapped closely around him again Tenma can't escape or pull back and see his face, but just it's clear how smiley Taiyou is from the sound of his voice, Tenma's voice, too, is just as readable. The thoughtful hum takes on a newly confident tone, the sort that he has during matches when he finally, truly, clicks into his captain mode. The grin in his voice is much more of a smirk as Tenma's arms around Taiyou become something strong.]
I guess if I kiss you, you'll have no choice but to kiss me anyway, so it'll work out in the end.
[That confident tone was new, something Taiyou doesn't remember Tenma having before he'd left for the FFI. The experience as captain for the whole country must have left a significant impact on him. Turned him into the captain he and Shindou had always known he'd been when they were both stepping in for him. To Taiyou, Tenma was always the true captain. He just needed to let him grow into it on his own time.
Not shoved, not thrust with responsibility he couldn't handle. The boy would never be left in the dark as long as he was here. That's what the sun was for.]
I like the way you think. You're going to be asking me to stop if you let me run completely loose!
[His head ducks down to brush his nose gently against Tenma's, his laughter escaping once more.]
[For all his obliviousness about kisses before, and his shyness in approaching it initially, the more he spends with Taiyou like this, the more his confidence increases. At an alarming speed, too, building up in minutes, some instinct in his heart and body and soul telling him exactly how he wants to be with Taiyou now that the first hint has been given.
Their noses brush, but Tenma seals the last notes of that laugh with another kiss. Their chins bumps a little, but their lips meet successfully. It makes him giddy -- it's fun, and he wants to keep doing it, feeling Taiyou's warmth and softness, tasting his sweetness...]
Me, asking you to stop?
[He returns a light laugh of his own as he nuzzles into Taiyou's shoulder where he'd dropped his head.]
[Tenma's kisses were soon becoming somewhat addicting, each time they touched he couldn't help but feel his lips spread into a smile, a knowing one that seemed to light up his whole face like the sun itself. Each breath was freeing, lungs filling with air and lifting him.
It was here that he'd found exactly how Tenma made him feel. It wasn't just happy or giggly (although they were certainly part of it).
He felt alive.
The sun and the wind, together making a refreshing summer day, warm enough to bask in the sunlight, but the wind blowing through your hair to keep you cool enough to enjoy it's glow.]
Mmm...I don't think so...
[His hands go to Tenma's jawline, tilting that head up just so their eyes can meet, before Taiyou starts planting small, peppered kisses in random places from his nose to his cheek to his lips. Each one chaste and fleeting, but surrounded by laughter after each one.]
[Taiyou's hands ghost over his skin before they press against his face, and Tenma shakes with the shivers that go down his spine. It's not a reaction out of fear or dislike; excitement, anticipation, and contentment bubble somewhere in his belly, and when Tenma responds to Taiyou's touches with little gasps and more of those shivers it's all because of those feelings, filling him up and fizzing inside.
A different sort of joy from what soccer brought.
Tenma's eyes flutter closed as more of Taiyou's kisses rain down on him, little droplets like light seeping through the leaves on a tree. His laughter is like the song of birds that fly through the sky. Despite his determined declaration earlier Tenma's cheeks flush almost bashfully at every touch, as his hands come up to rest at the front of Taiyou's shirt, over his chest. They hover, then slip up higher so his arms wrap around his neck.]
[With Tenma's weight shifting against his, arms sliding around his shoulders and face burying into his hands, it was easy to tilt back, to let their body weight sink them down onto the bed.
They land with a -thump!-, albeit a gentle one, as Taiyou lets out a happy sigh.]
If Tenma's promising that...then I'll have to run even faster.
[A hand threads through Tenma's hair, watching his fingers pull apart where the 'wing' stuck out of his hair, and then softly reshaping it to how it was.]
[Tenma lets Taiyou fall, falling forward as he sinks back, but he's careful not to crush him. He lands on knees and elbows with his torso bent down as not to pull completely away, face inches away from Taiyou's now.]
There's no use. No matter how fast you run, I'll always catch up.
[He notices how careful Tenma is, how when they fall back, elbows and knees prevent him from pushing his full weight onto him. Tenma would be that careful, he muses, not matter how confident he felt that he could support the boy's weight. It was what made Tenma so endearing...the one he had always devoted himself to from the moment they met.
He'd been this way on the soccer field too, now that he thinks about it.
Look at him, always causing trouble for his boyfriend.
Fingers continue to thread through his hair, cradling Tenma's face in his arms as he smiles, eyes filled with nothing less than adoration.]
... Yeah, and you motivate me to push forward, too.
[Tenma's eyes close for a brief moment, just enjoying the feeling of those fingers through his hair. This feels right. This does feel like something special, a nice addition to the already-special feeling that this relationship had. He breathes out, slowly, and they're so close right now that that small sigh would brush against Taiyou's cheek, too.]
I'll always catch up. And as long as I can reach you, I'll stop you again before you push too hard -- so you don't have to worry or be scared like you were in China.
[Still supporting himself with his knees and one elbow, Tenma raises his right arm, bringing the hand to his own chest, over his heart. He curls his fingers in the fabric of his shirt there before he moves his hand again, this time pressing the palm over Taiyou's chest. Right over his heart.]
[And that was what a perfect relationship should be, in Taiyou's eyes. Someone who can push you further, and someone who will always try to keep pace with you. Someone who smiled at you like you were the sun, whether you were named after it or not.
His eyes close, feeling Tenma's soft breath against his cheeks, committing it to memory before feeling a soft tug on his shirt. Eyes cast down curiously, seeing Tenma's hand placed just over his heart. Something that had plagued him his whole life, constantly trying to keep up with his spirit, and often times sent him to the hospital. It was Tenma who he had pushed his hardest for, and in the end, almost lost everything.
It was worth it at the time...
But he wanted to play soccer with Tenma forever.
So hearing those words, he smiles, leaning his face up to brush against Tenma's nose in a soft eskimo kiss.]
More than fair. Watch over me, Tenma...I'll never be afraid if you're there.
[Tenma didn't truly understand the dangers of the game that time. He was so desperate to win, and Taiyou smiled so brightly that he was blinded to the severity of his illness. He would be fine, he somehow thought, and he didn't doubt the strength with which Taiyou ran across the field.
Probably exactly what the boy wanted at the time, he's sure.
But right now, things was different. Taiyou was more cautious about his own body, and Tenma was more aware of everything. He knew Taiyou wouldn't play so recklessly ever again, and he knew that if Taiyou needed to push himself, he would be there to stop him or catch him. That was his role. And if that would help his most important person not be afraid... who could ever ask for a better role in his life than that?
His eyes narrow happily at the brush of Taiyou's nose against him, and he pulls up his recently-gained knowledge about "couple-y things" to dip his head even closer and press their lips together, his hand on Taiyou's chest pressing down more, fingers curling over his shoulder.]
