[Ibuki has a wild way of eating. Shindou, meanwhile, approaches his freshly-made treat with caution, feeling how hot the surface is with his lips first and then biting into it. It's still scalding, too much so for his sensitive tongue, and it takes him much longer to get through his (much smaller) bite than it does Ibuki.]
It really is good. But it's so hot.
[He's smiling, though, as he holds out his own red bean one toward the other boy and leans in to take a bite of the vanilla one as well, burned tongue be damned.]
[Ibuki waits, his bite letting the air around them cool off his own as Shindou works his way through his first bite.]
That's what you get for them making 'em right there. It's how you know it's the real deal.
[Ibuki leans over to bite a little part off of Shindou's as well, not nearly as wild and barbaric as he was to his own, but enough so that the filling can meet the cold air and cool off easier as well.
Shindou picked a good choice. The red bean WAS nice.]
Yeah well...maybe I want to.
[There's a soft elbow to Shindou's side.]
C'mon, it's not about who's got money or not, it's about me wanting to get you a snack to share with me.
[There's a tiny twitch from Shindou at the elbow to his side, a sign of ticklishness before he straightens up and decides to wait to take the next bite, allowing the treat to cool as he enjoys the warmness of it in his hands.]
You could be such a gentleman, if you weren't so aggressive about it.
[But the smile on his face stays, and it's soft and genuine.]
But it's sweet, though not as much as that vanilla filling.
[The offered piece is received without any hesitation, Shindou leaning in to eat it directly from Ibuki's hand rather than to take it with his fingers. There's a telltale brush of lips against fingertips, but one Shindou doesn't notice before he straightens back up and chews on the treat.]
I can't deny that. [Considering their first impressions of each other.] But it makes getting to know you all the more worthwhile.
[It was kind of cute, the way Shindou just leaned over and took it from his hands, like an inquisitive cat. Shindou seemed softer this way, not the stoic 'soccer senpai' he'd experienced at the start of Inazuma Japan, and not proper, rich boy of the Shindou family, either.
It was nice.
His fingertips twitch as lips brush against them, trying very hard not to let it show on his face that he'd noticed.]
C'mon, [He starts, that smile spreading and getting a little too devious for his own good.] You still regret it a little bit, right?
[It's a face Shindou shows only Ibuki, though it's not always intentional. He's just so relaxed around him now, smiling, still oblivious to their small contact, and licking his lips clean of the sweet cream that had gotten on them.]
[The real answer? No. Of course he wouldn't trade what they had right now for the world. He's worked too hard to gain Shindou's respect, and even moreso, his friendship.
But he'll tease a little, putting on a thinking face as they turn the corner out of the shopping district.]
Mmmm...
Nah, I'll spare the world your temper.
And I don't feel like getting kidnapped by birds again.

[Ibuki takes the next bite of his, chewing over Shindou's thoughts in his head as well as the taiyaki in his mouth.
His fingers touch the top of his own to break off a piece, testing if it cooled down before offering it to Shindou.]
No one really gets that impression. I'm a sportsman first.
[Even he can't deny his people skills were more catering to those who respected the fire burning inside him and not much else.]
